Welcome to trezor suite® — faster setup, safer ownership

Follow these practical steps to set up a Trezor hardware wallet and manage your crypto with confidence.
Updated guide — concise, security-forward

Quick setup (5 minutes)

1
Download Suite

Go to trezor.io/trezor-suite and choose the desktop app or use the web version. Verify digital signatures if you know how.

2
Connect device

Plug in your Trezor using a reliable USB cable. The device screen and Suite will walk you through initialization.

3
Create or recover seed

Choose create new to generate a seed shown only on-device. Write words on paper/metal — never store digitally.

4
Set PIN & passphrase

Pick a strong PIN on-device. Optionally enable a passphrase (a separate hidden wallet) if you understand the tradeoffs.

5
Finish

Open accounts in Suite, verify addresses on-device, and try a small transaction to confirm everything is working.

Send & Receive — quick reference

Core actions always require physical confirmation on your Trezor device. Treat the device as the single source of truth.

Receive

Generate a fresh address for every incoming payment when possible. Always confirm the address on your device screen before sharing it.

Send

  1. Enter recipient address and amount in Suite.
  2. Choose fee level (faster = higher fee).
  3. Review details and confirm on-device.

FAQ

Is Suite free to use?

Yes — Trezor Suite is free. Blockchain network fees still apply when sending transactions.

Will firmware updates erase my funds?

No. Funds are derived from your recovery seed. Still, keep your seed safe before updating.

Forgot PIN — now what?

If the PIN is lost you must wipe the device and restore from your recovery seed. This underscores why secure seed backups are critical.

ProblemFix
Device not recognizedTry different USB cable/port, reboot computer, allow permissions, or reinstall drivers.
Transactions unconfirmedCheck mempool fees; use higher fees or RBF (if available) to bump transaction.
